Laboratory Manager- based in Shenzhen

The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for lab purchasing, budget keeping, assigning lab responsibilities, breeding and maintaining mouse colonies, supervising all mouse experiments and serve as a knowledge/support resource to other lab members and the key to keeping the lab running smoothly.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the design and construction of new research laboratory in Shen Zhen; resolving issues in the construction process by communicating with users and contractors; overseeing the renovations of research laboratory
• Manage the daily operations of research laboratories, including equipment management
• Responsible for literature research and maintaining biomedical informatic databases
• Responsible for experimental design (in vitro and/or in vivo pharmacological testing), data analysis, prototype production, technology transfer, documentation and filing.
• Responsible for patent applications, project proposal and manuscript writing.
• Uphold the laboratory's regulations and policies to maintain a safe and productive work environment
• Responsible for team hiring, training and other line management responsibilities
• Support lab team members with various research/experiment-related tasks.
• Ensure the team are fully motivated, committed and are a high performing, reliable team
• Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately, and the teams lab books are kept up to date as per company guidelines
• Perform any related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Requirements:

• PhD in Medical Laboratory Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences or equivalent
• 7 years of relevant working experience with laboratory management
• Good personal integrity, responsible and trustworthy
• Independent, proactive, meticulous, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced working environment;
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, mentor and develop a team of scientists. Good team player with good interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in both English & Chinese
• Work based in ShenZhen with occasional travel to Hong Kong office for meeting
