Assistant Business Manager

Job Summary:

Job Purpose

The Assistant Sales Manager will support Consumer Products Commercialization (CPC) team in developing and implementing both sales and marketing plans to build the brand and franchises, increase awareness, favorability and purchase of Disney entertainment and product offering, and ultimately help accelerate business growth in Hong Kong and Macau. 

The role will include executing events and promotional programs to build the brand awareness and create the WOM.

The principal role of the position also includes driving sales target and implementing specific marketing programs that are aligned with the agreed strategies for the responsible franchise with business teams.  This requires working closely with all Business Units and corporate functions, while keeping abreast of the market landscape and development. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sales Manager in driving sales target and implementing the integrated marketing plans for CPC to build equity and sales of responsible franchises
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive synergy, marketing and consumer messaging for all franchises across TWDC divisions.
  • Maximize key sales, marketing and promotional partnerships by identifying multiple business opportunities across the team and IP portfolio.
  • Develop customized sales and marketing materials including pitch kits, sell-sheets and sizzles and video content.
  • Work with divisional and corporate research teams to ensure CPC-Hong Kong has the appropriate metrics, analytics and consumer insights to make effective strategic decisions to drive brand and franchise growth in each market.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management or related field in top university

Experience:

  • Experience working with or for multiple divisions of a major entertainment company is preferred.
  • Experience working in driving cross border business
  • 5+ years experiences in sales, marketing, brand development, promotions or sales for multi-national fortune 100 companies
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms or advertising agencies is an advantage.

Knowledge:

  • A mature, self-motivated manager who is also able to successfully implement multiple initiatives, driving results for the company.  The candidate must have a good “partnership” mentality in working with others. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the following:

  • Develop, plan and drive tactical promotions execution, travel fair tactics or advertising campaigns with key OTA partners, in order to maximize revenue and exposure from all key markets.  Identify the appropriate timing for promotion to maximize effectiveness in reaching sales targets.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • At least 5 years' experience in hospitality sector or relevant industries with 2 years in supervisory level
  • Extensive knowledge of Disney Parks and Resorts Operations. 
  • Demonstrated exceptional presentation including strong verbal and written communication skills (English, Cantonese & Mandarin preferred)
  • Proven track record of driving change, innovation, service excellence and sales fulfillment experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness for strategic and critical thinking; ability to challenge the status quo 
  • Good negotiation skills with ability to influence at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Formulate and drive Go-to-market strategies and plans across individual markets to build Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) attendance and revenue through driving international visitation and spending 

  • Conduct business reviews and applying the learnings into business strategies and plans 

  • Establish partnership with Marketing functions and working teams (Activations, Customer Engagement, etc.) to implement marketing plans and deliver various initiatives 

  • Staying on top of the dynamics of the markets’ macro, economic, and political changes impactthe shift in destinations and translate them into impact on consumer behavior in spending, travel and destination shifts. 

  • Understand the dynamics of travel industry via actively reaching out to industry players and relevant internal stakeholders, to develop insights and drive action to cope with the changes 

  • Articulate market insights and size the market potentials of various international markets for driving strategic priorities of markets through incorporating inputs from Revenue Management and Analytics’ market demand projection, Consumer Insights’ research, Sales’ intelligence, etc. 

  • Develop annual budget plans and by-quarter budget forecast. Portfolio-manage investments among markets and re-prioritize resources when the markets’ situation changes. 

  • Partner with Consumer Insights to: (1) develop consumer understanding initiatives (e.g. focus groups); (2) track campaign performance and brand health measures; (3) evaluate potentials to tap various consumer segments 


Job requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree holder, major in marketing or business 

  • 8 years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years of regional position with Profit &Loss management responsibility 

  • Knowledge within the tourism industry will be an advantage 

  • Good analytical skills in data interpretation and higher order of thinking skills to articulate and draw conclusions between diverse facts and abstract situations which may be pointing at different direction 

  • Strong media know-how to derive media brief and assessment on media recommendations.

工作概要:

  • Be responsible for the end-to-end and full cycle of mass recruitment activities including but not limited to: Sources, recruits, screens, assessment, interviews and recommends external and / or internal candidates. Ensuring the candidate, client, team, and recruiter experiences are met with exceptional service delivery.  

  • Identify recruitment opportunities through partnerships with NGOs and schools formulate strategies to promote Hong Kong Disneyland as the choice of employer. 

  • Help organize recruitment events/ recruitment day and job fair to achieve mass recruitment target for all front-line positions at Hong Kong Disneyland. 

  • Develop recruitment metrics with data from multiple systems and sources. Carry out data analysis to identify improvement opportunities on hiring efficiency and effectiveness.  

  • Handling Ad hoc Recruitment Projects as assigned by the Managers.  

 

 

Requirements 

  • At least 3 years of full cycle recruiting experience, developing and executing fully comprehensive sourcing/recruitment plans is preferred.  

  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis and business metrics development. 

  • Demonstrated ability to consult with internal clients about talent needs; design and execute recruitment strategies around those needs. 

  • High degree of autonomy and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results within tight deadlines.  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with various internal leaders and external business partners or vendors.  

  • Detail-minded and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Good command of both spoken and written in English, Cantonese and Putonghua
