Executive Director (Research)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide insight and advice from economic, monetary and financial perspectives to inform various facets of the HKMA’s work

• Develop rigorous theoretical and empirical foundations for the HKMA’s formulation of strategies, policies and initiatives
• Direct the activities of the Research Department, providing intellectual and technical leadership to a professional team to drive excellence in research on economic, monetary and financial areas
• Represent the HKMA to lead and participate in regional and international conferences, meetings and seminars
• Establish and maintain research networks with other central banks and international financial organisations 
• Champion and drive the use of advanced technology and analytics in the work of the Research Department

Requirements

• Very strong economic background, typically holds a Ph.D in economics
• At least ten years’ experience in a relevant field with extensive experience in leading specialised research teams
• Very strong record of research output
• Strategic thinking with a strong team orientation
• Excellent presentation skills and solid management experience
