What you will do: 

 

  • Manage and facilitate mandatory corporate programs and provide onboarding orientation for new hires 

  • Support the Director of People and Culture in talent management and development programs through succession planning, learning needs analysis and developing customized programs and initiatives to achieve business needs 

  • Lead the Departmental Designated Trainers platform to enhance the learning culture of the hotel, keeping abreast of industry trends and training best practices 

  • Take responsibility for Interns' arrangements including interviewing, onboarding procedures and reviewing performance 

  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and local regulations 

  • Provide coaching to managers and employees in performance-related matters, develop and implement remedial plans  

  • Initiate, organize, and engage actively in employee engagement activities 

  • Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned 

 

What you bring: 

  • Native proficiency in English and Chinese language 

  • College Degree with 3 years relevant experience in a managerial capacity 

  • Solid and clear communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external customers 

  • Strong business acumen in strategic planning and process management, analytical, and is computer and systems savvy 

  • Passionate, creative and sensitive to different cultures and trends 

  • Expected to be a culture carrier, has strong communication, problem solving, planning, organizing and influencing skills 

  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Learning and Development Assistant Manager

The Job

Reporting to the Caprice Chef, the Pastry Chef will manage, plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees responsible for preparation of sweet items, pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fruit compotes breads, chocolates and show pieces while ensuring superior quality and consistency.

Responsibilities
Develop customized and modify existing menus for customers after the evaluation of their needs and consideration of potential food risks
Inspect the operation of cooking equipment, conditions of utensils and supply and quality of food to make necessary purchase or replace decisions
Train and develop team members with latest trending techniques in pastry, bakery and confectionary products, and equip them with relevant knowledge in food match and portion control
Review food consumption information from event orders and reports, ensuring preparation for sufficient supply in upcoming events and daily operational needs
Explain to customers on potential food safety hazard and provides professional advices during dining or pre-event meetings


Requirements
Possess valid authorization for work in Hong Kong
Diploma in Culinary/Pastry or related discipline
Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience in Pastry Kitchen
Good command of spoken and written English
Strong leadership and communication skills
