

Full-time Research Assistant I/II in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit (MEHU), School of Clinical Medicine (Ref: 530489) (to commence as soon as possible, on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Biological/ Medical Sciences, Law, Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related discipline in Humanities. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in Putonghua would be considered a plus. Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, and using statistical software (e.g SPSS) for data analysis is highly preferred. Preference will be given to those with experience in health research. They should be self-motivated, eager to learn, responsible, able to work independently and capable of multitasking under pressure. They are also expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by performing any other duties as assigned, and contributing to various aspects of research projects and Unit’s operations as required. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for the position of Research Assistant II.
The appointee will be involved in research projects related to studying patient safety, as well as public knowledge and attitudes towards emerging technologies, rare diseases, and health-related quality-of-life. The duties will include, but are not limit to, conducting literature reviews, providing administrative and logistical support for the research projects, assisting in data collection, management and analysis, assisting in the preparation of the presentations or reports, and performing other duties as assigned. He/she will also assist in some educational development projects. Irregular working hours and outdoor working may be required occasionally.
