Global Strategy and Planning helps inform strategic decision-making and acts as a catalyst and driver for strategic change. The team constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Engagement Manager - Global Banking and Markets Strategy, Group Strategy.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Help shape the strategic agenda for Global Banking including identification of trends impacting the sector, key organic and inorganic moves and capital / resource allocation into different streams of the business
  • Represent Global Banking and GBM in cross-bank strategic initiatives aimed at maximising value for the Group, including collaborations across business lines or functions
  • Develop and coordinate strategic initiatives in Global Banking, and track execution of key Global Banking initiatives to ensure strategic KPIs are met
  • Ensure alignment of the strategic direction of Global Banking initiatives with broader GBM Strategy and Group Strategy
  • Pro-actively identify key collaboration opportunities with other businesses and functions
  • Identify execution risks on strategy and propose remedial actions
  • Collaborate effectively with peers in the Regions and Global Businesses, and facilitate development of team members across the broader strategy team
  • Ensure the team’s compliance with mandatory / necessary / business critical initiatives and requirements
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our stakeholders (customers, shareholders etc.) and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Requirements

  • Strategy consulting experience, preferably gained at one of the leading global consultancies is required
  • Tangible knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banking sector is preferred
  • Experience gained in investment banking, asset management or the financial services industry with a global banking lens would be beneficial
  • Structured analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data sources
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Confidence in liaising across the organization with an ability to deliver clear, insightful and succinct analyses
  • Ability to prioritize effectively against multiple deadlines
