HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
This will be an Asia Pacific (“APAC”) focused role, based in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing or Shanghai depending on the candidate’s circumstances and the hire will be responsible for managing all philanthropic programs in APAC, including but not limited to 10,000 Women, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Community TeamWorks:
Strategy and Program Management:
- Work with the wider team within and outside of the Executive Office to help develop and refine the overall OCE strategy in APAC, ensuring OCE is supporting overall Firm objectives
- Deliver the OCE strategy in the region, ensuring robust program management, execution and evaluation
- Drive OCE programs, including 10,000 Women, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Community TeamWorks in APAC, ensuring they are best in class
- Manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority at the highest level
- Develop and execute on new strategic initiatives
- Manage engagement with the Goldman Sachs Foundation
- Support the execution of employee engagement opportunities
Thought Leadership, Communication and Events:
- Develop and drive the implementation of thought leadership strategy for OCE in APAC
- Engage and manage core internal and external stakeholders as part of overall thought leadership and program management strategy
- Design and execute high profile events related to OCE programs in APAC and drive brand value for the Firm
- Deepen the commercial impact of OCE programs
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience plus Bachelor’s degree
- Verbal and written fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese a must; Proficiency in Japanese a plus
- Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion
- Proven project management skills, with excellent organizational and analytical skills, and complete attention to detail
- Keen problem solver and experience working within a highly matrixed organization such as Goldman Sachs
- Effective team player, working closely with colleagues in different time zones and from across different teams
- Experience working with senior stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in person, on the phone, and by email
- Strong presentation skills and ability to represent Goldman Sachs at external engagements
- Flexible and willing to work extended hours and travel when required
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong interest in the nonprofit sector and/or philanthropy expected
