WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Degree in preferably Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism or Hospitality.
  • Preferably at least 10 years of work experience in the MICE industry with excellent general knowledge on wider economic and professional developments in the region. Experience at senior management positions in driving business development is essential.
  • Demonstrated history in leading effective teams to achieve meaningful performance in a fast-paced, highly pressurised environment.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is accountable for the full spectrum of human resources & office administration management of HKTB, covering both the Head Office and Worldwide Offices. Director, Event & Product Development (Event Partnership)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an event partnership & development strategy for Hong Kong in line with the HKTB business plan. This includes assessing and classifying confirmed 3rd party events related to entertainment, culinary, arts & culture, facilitating and supporting the staging of potential 3rd party events with tourism merits, and collaborating with event organisers to enhance the excitement of Hong Kong's event calendar and reinforce its destination appeal.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related disciplines
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience, with 5 years at the supervisory level, demonstrating a proven record in event development and campaign marketing
  • Knowledge of the functionality and operation of various government departments and commercial sectors in tourism development and event management is preferred 
  • Strong commercial sense to understand market needs for event development and related products 
  • Highly motivated and independent, with the ability to identify high-yielding products, festivities, and world-class events from numerous options
  • Proven experience in developing and managing major territory-wide events, promotions, and campaigns in Hong Kong

FUNCTIONS

  1. Business Development: works with trade partners to enhance visitors' experience, organises events and programmes to connect HK and overseas trades, creates programmes to entice visitors to visit HK, and promotes shops and restaurants
  2. Corporate Affairs: engages and cooperates with local and overseas media to generate positive awareness and entice participation in HKTB’s events and corporate initiatives, cultivate the ravishing image of HK through stakeholder management
  3. Corporate Services: provides professional financial, procurement, and legal suggestions to business functions to enhance compliance to safeguard
  4. Event & Product Development: develops events to strengthen HK's worldwide position, formulates promotion strategies for third parties' mega-events, and formulates and executes the event partnership and sponsorship strategies
  5. Human Resources & Administration: supports various functions by recruiting talents, establishing and reviewing policies, managing compensation, benefits and staff performance, formulating staff engagement, learning and development initiatives, and monitoring office administration and facilities maintenance

Major Accountabilities:
